How to Get Away with Murder has always been a show that packs three hours of drama into a one-hour episode, making it one of the most addictive and exciting series on prime time. That being said, this week’s episode may have outdone itself. Is it Thursday yet? We need it to be Thursday already.

For every loving, sweet, promising moment during this week’s episode, there were just as many, if not more, moments that had us in full body sweat. Let’s look at the good, the bad, and the cliffhanger.

The Good

Like Annalise, we’re also fans of Laurel and Wes together, although we wish we could have gone through the TV screen and given Meggie a hug when she saw the two together. Really guys? Did you have to snuggle in the hospital where she works?

CTV

Seeing Connor and Oliver back together also warmed our hearts, but of course the inevitable fight about secrets came up. We understand why Oliver is upset being kept in the dark, but we also understand Connor’s desire to keep Oliver safe. Unfortunately, it looks like Asher won’t get his wish to attend a gay wedding anytime soon, but more on that in the ‘Bad’ section.

Speaking of Asher, it’s refreshing to get to see a more human side of him as well as Michaela. They are a couple that no one, including likely the writers, would have predicted getting together back in season one, but they totally work. Well, they did work. We have a feeling that Asher answering Michaela’s phone and Michaela’s mother showing up in previous flashbacks will not end well for the two.

This week’s episode also included Annalise acting like a decent human being, possibly thanks to her new sobriety. If eating an entire aisle of the 7/11 is what it takes to make Annalise a nice person who helps President Hargrove get her children back, we’ll take it.

The Bad

Dear writers at How to Get Away with Murder: thank you for not making us watch Frank kill a child. This week’s been bad enough already.

CTV

Also, what was up with Bonnie trying to get Frank to kill a little kid? Every character on this show needs intense therapy and probably should not be allowed to operate heavy machinery. And cell phones. Take away their cell phones.

Finally, three words: Connor. Sex. Thomas. If there was any hope of Connor and Oliver giving their relationship a third chance, were pretty sure it got thrown out in trash along with the used condom wrapper.

The Cliffhanger

What could possibly be worse than watching Connor have sex with Thomas, Frank almost killing a child, or watching an innocent man go to jail for murder? How about the ultimate cliffhanger, courtesy of a very tearful Frank holding a very loaded gun while a very angry Annalise screamed at him to kill himself.

CTV

Of course, this scene is supposed to make us think it’s Frank’s dead body inside Annalise’s burning house. This outcome seems unlikely for two reasons. One, it’s an obvious choice and takes away from the upcoming shocking winter season finale (HTGAWM loooooves their shocking finales). Two, we’ve seen from the very beginning of the season that Annalise’s reaction to the person under the sheet is one of complete shock and despair. Either she knew it was going to be Frank and she is a great actor, or the dead body belongs to another man. It’s not looking good for Nate.

Season 3 of How To Get Away With Murder is building towards a fire at Annalise’s house that claims the life of one character, who we now know is male. Each episode will conclude with one or more characters being crossed off the dead body list, with Connor earning this week’s reveal.

Survivor List: Annalise, Oliver, Bonnie, Meggie, Laurel + Baby, Michaela, Asher, Wes, Connor

How To Get Away With Murder airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on CTV
