We're happy to announce that
The Social is launching a new series called
Going Green, where we'll explore different ways to reduce waste in our every day lives.A lot of us are inspired by the idea of low-waste living, but where do we begin? It can be a little overwhelming. That's why we asked
Sophi Robertson, a low-waste consultant, to help get us started.

Make produce last
A lot of us are guilty of throwing away food that we let go bad. Here are some helpful hacks:
-
- Kale: Snip the stem and place it in a jar with a bit of water. It will freshen up in an hour or so.
- Celery: Place in water. It will crisp up.
Switch to reuseable bags
Take an old shirt, cut the sleeves, fringe the bottom and tie to make a bag. Voila!
Cut back on gift wrap
Use fabric from scarves, shirts, etc... that you don't wear anymore. Watch the video clip above for more of Sophi's tips.[video_embed id='1627913']How to travel in a more eco-friendly and sustainable way[/video_embed]
