Food nerds, rejoice. Aesop’s fable has been given a very modern-day interpretation.
For those who have been unsuccessfully trying to master the art of scrambling eggs inside their own shells (and ruining T-shirts and nylons in the process), the wait for a smart gadget to ease the process has finally ended. Cue the Rocky theme song, please. We give you the Golden Goose, which you can see in action in the video, above.
The hand-powered appliance harnesses centrifugal force to blend the yolk and egg white together. All it takes is around 10 to 15 handle pulls and voila: You have a scrambled egg in less than 20 seconds.
As scrambled egg fans, we love that it means one less bowl and whisk to wash. Just crack your “goosed” eggs into the pan and cook away. For yolk haters, this device eliminates the need to hatch another creative strategy for getting around that golden orb. The pre-blending means all you need to do is enjoy the creamy, yellow-hued egg just the way you like it — boiled, fried or scrambled.
Other creative uses for the Goose are not limited to: using it during playtime (it is modeled on a Victorian spinning toy), getting the kids to help with meal prep (albeit slyly), using it as a conversation-starter (especially when you need to distract your mother-in-law when she starts talking about her cats…again) and pranking dinner guests. Who wouldn’t be freaked out by yolk-less eggs, right?
Do you want your very own Golden Goose? You’re in luck, they’re now available on Amazon. (Christmas is just around the corner, folks.)
