Pancakes: They’re hard to perfect, amiright? The expletives that spew forth from your mouth when yours turn out looking like a disfigured Loch Ness Monster cut right through the Saturday morning cartoons. And that rare time you get a perfectly round one? Your sense of smug self-satisfaction will last you right through to Monday. Well, get ready to feel inadequate once again (sorry), because this bloke has moved way past Level I of Pancake-Making 101.

Dad, illustrator and math teacher Nathan Shields sure knows his way around a flapjack. Each week, Shields wows his kids (and the Internet at large) with pancake portraits the likes of which you’ve never seen. Our current favourite? The Beatles. Yes, John, Paul, George and Ringo are now edible, thanks to Shields, for which we award him five yellow submarines out of five.

The Fab Four not your thing? That’s okay: Shields will create any pancake picture you like for a cool $100. Who’s hungry?
