The comedian couldn’t help but make jokes, even as she cradled her newborn son in the hospital. Amy Schumer actually gave birth to her first child at 10:55pm Sunday night but her baby’s debut was quickly overshadowed by maybe the most famous birth of the year—the arrival of Baby Sussex.

Schumer’s entire pregnancy, the ups and downs of which she candidly documented on social media as she is wont to do, happened alongside Meghan Markle’s very public, and seemingly issue-free pregnancy, something the Trainwreck star referenced in her most recent Netflix special, aptly Growing.

“She’s out there in six-inch heels, adorable outfits and there’s been no bump. She, like, cups where the bump will be,” Schumer joked. She also told the L.A. Times that she “look[ed] forward to competing with Markle every step of the way” when first discussing her big news.

Schumer and chef husband Chris Fischer married in a private ceremony in February 2018 and she announced her pregnancy in October.

Congrats to the new parents!
