There’s something about celebrities acting like normal people that makes them more endearing to the public. Often these displays consist of magazine spreads showing Julia Roberts pumping her own gas or Leonardo DiCaprio picking up his dry cleaning, but in the case of Oscar-nominated actor Richard E. Grant, it’s fan-girling over every celeb he encounters during awards season. We’ve never felt more connected to a star.

Co-starring in Can You Ever Forgive Me? with Melissa McCarthy, Grant earned his first Oscar nomination this year for Best Supporting Actor. The cuteness overload started early this awards season, with Grant posting a video of himself only moments after finding out he had been nominated. The actor is standing in front of the house where he rented a room for $50 per week as a struggling thespian more than 30 years ago, a great reminder to stick with your dreams, even when they require you to share a bathroom with strangers (we assume).

Being nominated for an Oscar means you get to go to all the A-list parties during awards season. A-list parties mean A-list celebs and if you’re like Grant and have zero chill (yas!), these parties are a celebrity selfie jackpot.

Bless this man for being a highly respected stage and screen actor and still taking poorly focused selfies like every other 61-year-old dad with an iPhone.

This collection shows the progression of Grant’s selfie game, from the ‘artistic’ photos with Spike Lee to the almost professional shot with Viggo Mortensen.

Just in case you thought, ‘why aren’t there any photographers around to take professional photos of Grant with these other celebrities?’ There are. But selfies are way more fun.

Want to take the final step from ‘like’ to ‘love’ in your newly formed crush on Richard E. Grant? He doesn’t just take selfies with celebs. He also did a fun photoshoot with his handler who helped him navigate Oscar season.

Grant’s strong selfie game isn’t the only reason he’s the most joyful celebrity to follow on Twitter. He recently shared a picture of himself standing outside of Barbra Streisand’s house, as well as the letter he wrote to the Oscar winner when he was 14 years-old. Grant graciously invited Streisand to stay at his family’s home in Swaziland following her ‘failed romance with Mr. Ryan O’Neal.’

Streisand finally responded almost five decades later, thanking Richard and congratulating him on Can You Ever Forgive Me?.

Richard E. Grant makes us crinkle-faced too.

We can’t wait to see what, and who, he’s going to post tomorrow.
