When it comes to crafting creative and legendary television series starring strong, powerful women that we can all relate to, there’s probably no one on this planet who’s better at her job than Shonda Rhimes. Between Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder, it’s pretty much a no-brainer that ABC would brand an entire TGIT night to the executive producer.

But now that How to Get Away With Murder is done for another season, not to return until this fall, there’s a small gap in our Thursday night TV schedule at 10 p.m. And we know exactly how to fill it: with the latest series from Shondaland, The Catch.

Starring Mireille Enos (The Killing) and Peter Krause (Parenthood), the series revolves around private investigator Alice Vaughan as she learns that the man she’s engaged to has not only just stolen all of her life savings in his craftiest con yet, but now he’s targeting her prestigious client list next.

It’s a sexy, high-fashioned romp into the powerful world of private investigators and con men, one that you’ll be sucked into just as hard as all those other Shondaland shows. Here’s just a little proof.

If you love the twisty but awesome leading ladies on Grey’s, Murder or Scandal

Then you should know Alice is just as wicked as the rest. Uninterested in a traditional marriage but willing to stand by the man she loves (until he cons her), she’s a stand-up boss, has a terrific support staff, kills it at her job every single day and looks hot as hell doing it.

If you love the wardrobe on Scandal

You will most definitely love the looks that Alice pulls off in the pilot alone. Think swanky cocktail gowns, beautiful business attire and a wedding dress that couldn’t look better on Audrey Hepburn. If she doesn’t get her own fashion line a la Olivia Pope we’ll seriously be shocked.

If you love the professional female friendships on Grey’s

Just wait until you see the on-screen dynamic between Enos and Rose Rollins. The pair play the duo who own the private investigator firm in question, and have a female friendship unlike anything else we’ve seen on TV. It’s refreshing to see two gals not fight over a guy or gig, and genuinely be there for each other the way these two are.

If you love the mystery aspect to Murder

Sonya Walger’s (Lost) character in The Catch‘s pilot will knock your socks off. She’s ruthless, callous and definitely hiding a secret or two. Plus there’s the whole con itself, and trying to figure out what these bad guys are up to and for whom. We’re ready to get rolling with theories already.

If you love the internship program on Grey’s

You’ll probably share a giggle or two at the expense of Alice’s employees Sophie (Elvy Yost) and Danny (Jay Hayden). They add a fun dynamic while learning under the wing of their mentor, so that even when they screw something up you can’t really help but like them.

If you love the steamy sex scenes on Scandal

We definitely have to warn you that there are some pretty salacious moments between Enos and Krause that would put Ballard and Olivia to shame… almost. Okay so they’re actually pretty much on par, but let’s just say you’re going to want to refill that wine glass and popcorn bowl before settling in.

If you love watching Annalise dole out justice on Murder

You’re truly going to love how quickly Alice rebounds at her own betrayal on The Catch. We totally don’t want to give anything away just yet, but we can tease that her first run-in with her ex after she realizes what he did will put a smile on your face. A grin, even.

If you love the music on Grey’s

Well then you’re in for some awesome tunes with The Catch. Sure, the series is a little more upbeat than Grey’s (people aren’t dying on the daily at a hospital, after all), so that means the music has to follow suit. But it’s punchy and fun enough that it’s just as catchy — and memorable.

If you love the B613 games of cat-and-mouse on Scandal

Then you’ll really dig the lead up to an eventual showdown between Enos and Walgar’s characters. What happens when you pit two brilliant, cutthroat and beautiful women against each other in a battle of the wills? We don’t know yet, but we can’t wait to find out.

If you love the diversity on Murder

You’ll be equally impressed with the well-rounded cast on The Catch. Although we only just get to know them in the pilot, we’re more than sure that they’ll have some truly great stuff coming up as this show settles in and becomes our new Thursday night favourite.

And finally, if you just love good old fashioned drama with a fun story and great characters, The Catch will totally be for you.

The Catch debuts Thursday, March 24 at 10 p.m. ET on CTV.
