Acne is just something that we get. It can be annoying, we know. And we’re not just talking about getting a new zit on prom night, or date night with a handsome fella. We do everything we can to make them less visible, with makeup or any number of potions. Bottom line is, if you have acne, or have ever had acne, these are struggles you can totally relate to:
Feeling so self-conscious, you don’t even want to go outside
It’s a different world out there!
People assuming you have bad hygiene
But it’s not true, you totally shower all the time.
Children asking their parents about your acne scars, publicly and loudly
We know you’re curious, kids, but stop staring.
Trying to convince yourself that if your skin were clear, life would be different
But life can be different, even with acne. Em Ford knows it, and you can, too.
You panic every time you hear about the downsides of using Accutane, because you used Accutane before it was taken off the market.
Every single time.
You pick, even though people tell you to stop
No matter how stealthy you think you’re being, people will always see you trying to pick or touch your face. And they’ll always tell you to stop. ‘Cause if you pick, acne won’t heal properly, and that’s how you get scars.
You hate your acne, but you get a kick out of popping the bit zits
We feel you, but if you gotta pop ’em, do it the right way.
