There’s something super luxurious about taking a long, warm bath, especially at this time of year. That said, it feels like the bath is on the brink of extinction, and we want to reclaim it. More than half of millennial women made self-care their resolution for 2018. This new year is all about self-care and giving yourself permission to be a bit more selfish and do a better job of putting yourself higher on the to-do list. Like therapy, a weekly or nightly bath ritual forces us to slow down and breathe. Beauty expert Nathalie Smith shares some of her favourite products to help us all take our baths to the next level. fresh-sake-bath-soak.jpg Fresh Rice Sake Bath This soak goes way beyond the expectations of even the biggest bath junkie. Once it’s poured into a hot bath, you’ll never want to get out. Not only is the faint, fresh peach scent intoxicating, it also removes toxins from the skin by combining the detoxifying, skin-soothing power of sake with tension easing ginger and pine. It’s perfect if you’re achy, stiff or stressed. live-clean-bath-salts.jpg Live Clean Dead Sea Salts These bath salts really let you immerse yourself into the waters of the Dead Sea. They soothe aching, tired muscles, and naturally relax and purify. The essential oils of eucalyptus, calming lavender, detoxifying lemon and ginger both invigorate and relax your senses. lush-sex-bomb.jpg LUSH Sex Bomb This adorable bath bomb gets your in the mood for a good soak and smells as amazing as it sounds and looks. It fizzes beautifully and makes a pretty pink bath water, and when it’s finished dissolving, you’re left with romantic rose petals, which are lovely and moisturizing to smooth over and soften rough patches. lavande-loccitane.jpg L’Occitane Lavender Foaming Bath This bubble bath turns your tub into an escape. The rich formula generously foams in the bath with all of the relaxing benefits of lavender, leaving the skin supple, clean and smelling gorgeous. Simply pour a small amount under running water. petal-candle.jpg Boy Smells Petal Candle These candles smell like men, and once you find the one that suits you, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without. Notes of rose, orange blossom, and jasmine are mixed with smoke, cedar and birch tar to create a scent that’s both beautiful and complicated. carbonated-bubble-clay-mask.jpg Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay There is no better time to mask than when you’re in the tub. This Korean-made milky bubble clay mask is what your skin needs to detox and return to its glory days. Don’t let the adorable name fool you—the carbonated clay contains active ingredients that eliminate dirt and toxins, tighten pores, and balance excess oil or dryness, making skin smoother and softer, and pores practically non-existent. herbivore-coco-rose.jpg Herbivore Coco Rose Body Polish Bath time is also a great time to exfoliate your skin. This product in particular is a highly moisturizing and gently exfoliating blend of virgin coconut oil and Moroccan rose. Simply massage a handful of body polish into your skin, let it sit for a minute or two for complete hydration and then rinse off. sabon-soap.jpg Sabon Vanilla Coconut Body Butter By applying a moisturizing butter like this one when your skin is slightly wet, you’ll lock in all that extra moisture.
