Every now and then, Michael Moore must like to relax. When not exposing alleged 9/11 conspiracies in Fahrenheit 9/11, the injustices of the American health system in Sicko, or the U.S. financial crisis in Capitalism: A Love Story, we can only assume the controversial documentary filmmaker occasionally likes get away from the craziness of life and retreat to his Michigan lake house.
Or at least, he did.
Moore has listed his 11,000 square-foot, seven bedroom, five bathroom cottage retreat for $5.2M US (that’s around $6.8M in Canadian funds, so start saving now). With soaring ceilings, log home interior and unobstructed view of Torch Lake, we can’t imagine a more gorgeous spot for anyone to get away from it all. The home also features a library (where we imagine the director must’ve done rigorous research), artist studio (where you know, he was artsy) and of course, a mud room, because what type of lake house would be complete without one?
And good news for any prospective Canadian buyers: it’s located just outside of Traverse City, just a three hour drive south of Sault Ste Marie, Ontario.
Take a look at this surprisingly gorgeous home in the video above.
