The Hills may have started out as a little MTV show but it became a part of our lives. Following Lauren Conrad as she left Laguna Beach for Los Angeles to work as an intern at Teen Vogue, we were introduced to Audrina Patridge, Whitney Port and, well, we already knew Heidi Montag. It premiered in 2006 and Tuesday marked its 10th anniversary. So what better way to celebrate that than with an MTV special airing this summer, as announced by L.C.?
Today is the 10th anniversary of The Hills! I am excited to announce that @MTV will premiere an anniversary special with me on Tuesday 8/2!

How does that make you feel, people?
No, really. HOW?
Conrad took to her blog to reflect on how in over her head she once was and how proud she is of the show. Ultimately, though, she wanted to thank the fans from then up until now. She promises that her re-partnership with MTV will be “an honest conversation about what it was really like living with cameras for so many years, sharing some behind-the-scene secrets, and showing some of my life today.”
But what about everyone else? No word yet from any of L.C.’s former friends, frenemies and co-stars but time will tell. The special, which may be titled The Hills: That Was Then, This Is Now, promises to take “us back to revisit MTV’s cultural phenomenon in celebration of the show’s 10-year anniversary.”
The real question is, will the special ‘fess up and tell us if it was all real or scripted? Because that’s what inquiring minds need to know.
And, yes, they’re all grown up now, married, some with kids, but a little L.C./Kristin drama goes a long way.
Let’s face it, though. If we don’t see a little Speidi action, this special is all for nothing.
We can’t wait to see you guys!
