Who knows Will Smith better than the Fresh Prince himself? That’s the premise of sci-fi thriller Gemini Man, directed by Oscar winner Ang Lee, and starring Will Smith…and Will Smith.
You read that right.
Smith plays Henry Brogan, an elite assassin that finds himself in the cross-hairs of a young operative who somehow knows his every move. The catch—that’s because it’s Henry himself, well, technically a clone that was made 25 years ago to target Brogan, and having a weapon pointed at you by a replica of your younger self would be a challenging hurdle.
The movie, coming to a theatre near you on October 11 and co-starring Clive Owen and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, uses innovative special effects to have two Smiths playing off each other and the results are pretty incredible.
The upcoming big-budget film is the latest in what is shaping up as a renaissance for Smith.
He also has the live-action remake of Aladdin coming up, where he has incredibly large shoes to fill as Genie after the late Robin Williams’ iconic voice work, and just today was recognized for his impressive 50th birthday bungee jump video The Jump, with a Webby Award.
