J.K Rowling is adored by many, thanks to her Harry Potter books and the entire wizarding world she’s gifted us. She receives loads of messages and tributes from fans who can’t get enough of her, and unlike many other celebs, Rowling engages. She doesn’t have to but she does. Whether she’s shutting down haters with a handful of words, doling out advice to someone in need, or simply just giving the people what they need, she finds a way to do it in awesome fashion.

The latest J.K. engagement comes courtesy of a Hogwarts lover who created a lovely meme that was clearly intended to be nothing but a heartwarming tribute. Except it’s actually totally weird because it’s honouring Rowling after she dies. As one might, Ms. Rowling promptly took exception, in her classic, classy J.K. way.

Look, expressing the emotions you’ll feel when someone you admire dies is fine. Sweet, even. But tagging them in a meme you’ve specifically created for when that happens? That’s just messed up.

Later on, another fan commented that J.K.’s tweet was “gonna blow up when you die,” and the author had to cheekily reply.

And it got even better when an editor at the Daily Record chimed in, informing J.K. that they already have an obituary for her on file, and offered her a chance to read it beforehand. Well, it doesn’t get any better than Rowling’s response.

Hey, as long as we keep getting her primo reactions, let the Rowling tributes keep rolling in.
