There’s just something about Jennifer Lawrence’s personal brand that makes her feel more approachable, more real than 99 per cent of other celebs. From the down-to-earth way she acts at awards shows and other public events to the hilarious off-the-cuff things she says during interviews, this 28-year-old actress gives the impression that she’s not hiding her real self. People love her for that.

Lawrence recently opened up about her willingness to open up during an interview with InStyle, telling the magazine that she thinks honesty is a policy Hollywood should take more seriously, especially when it comes to dieting and body weight.

“I just like it when everyone’s honest,” she told the magazine. “If you are 20 pounds underweight and talk about eating pizza and fried chicken all the time, that’s not going to make people feel good about themselves… If I’m going to the Oscars or having a movie premiere — I won’t lie — I’m probably eating differently from how I would in my regular life to fit into those dresses. And I feel comfortable saying that.”

The Red Sparrow actor and face of the Dior fragrance Joy has been known to speak out on the unrealistic beauty standards that stars like her can project, even going so far as to recently take a break from acting to focus on political activism.

When asked when she feels most beautiful, Lawrence said, “Honestly, when I’m at my most disciplined. Like, when I’m really making myself go to the gym. Which is a joke, because I definitely pay more for canceled workouts than actual ones. But when I’m there and running on the treadmill, that’s when I feel most powerful.”

J.Law skips the gym, too!? Even more relatable. In a sea of seemingly never ending perfectness on Insta and in glossies, hearing Lawrence speak so bluntly about body image is like taking a long sip of cold water after finishing a sweaty spin class… you know, when you actually do make it onto the bike.
