It’s official. Jennifer Lawrence is giving up being blue. And she’s crushing the hearts of superhero movie fanatics and her enthusiastic male fan base in the process. Why you gotta be so cruel, J-Law?
News broke yesterday that Lawrence will be abandoning her popular role as the sexy blue, mutant villain Mystique in the current X-Men film franchise following the release of X-Men Apocalypse next spring. That means no rumoured spin-offs and the end of practically naked, full body paint for Lawrence after shooting wraps later this year.
The news came directly from J-Law herself at the red carpet for her latest film Serena. Lawrence was asked whether the upcoming X-Men adventure would be her last, and she quickly responded with “It is my last one, actually, yes.” Rats!
The Oscar winner has been a busy lady with her Hunger Games flicks as well as her recurring roles in David O. Russell movies. But at least we’ll get to see her don the blue paint one last time next year.
Shooting for X-Men Apocalypse begins this April in Montreal, and the film is scheduled for release in May of 2016. We still love you J-Law.
