James Corden is sending a call out to a Swedish singer who may just love "Carpool Karaoke" more than anyone else on the planet. Nanne Grönvall certainly seems to love it more than any famous guest who's ever been on and even more than James himself. How do we know? She wrote, choreographed and performed an entire Eurovision musical number about the singing-and-driving sement. This is a collab we need to happen immediately. There are a lot of things that are huge in Europe but just never seem to be able to make the leap over the pond. Mayo with French fries and calling it “football” instead of soccer come to mind; but one of the most notable is the Eurovision Song Contest. If you’re unaware, this is a continent-wide song competition where each European nation submits one song and musical act to compete amongst all the other nations in the European bloc (plus some non-European countries like Azerbaijan and Australia). It is a massive competition every year that has the entire continent hooked to their tellies (we mean TVs) to see which country has the top tune. And because it’s European, the songs can be wacky, weird, colourful, and almost always lost in translation.Right now, leading up to the huge Eurovision show, countries are having their own semi-finals to determine which song and act they’ll send to the finals. During Sweden’s Melodifestivalen, they had a song with a rather odd, yet familiar subject matter. You might not know the name Nanne Grönvall, but she's a big star in Sweden, and she got up on stage to sing the lyrics, “Only one thing can make me happy. I want to sing 'Carpool Karaoke' with James Corden, yeah!”
We’re quite sure that’s everyone’s dream, but we didn’t know we're delighted someone thought to put that dream to music!Well, Wednesday night on The Late Late Show, James Corden caught wind of this song and had to address it. “It is amazing, right?” he said to a hooting and hollering audience. “I have got to say, Nanne is more passionate about 'Carpool Karaoke' than I have ever been. I mean, she is more passionate than many of the artists who have done 'Carpool Karaoke!'” He then showed stills of Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, and Migos during their "Carpool" segments looking bored AF. Dang, way to call them out, James.Showing another clip from Nanne’s incredible performance full of props and dancers arranged on stage made to look like a car, James then quipped, “I mean, talk about accuracy. Just like the real 'Carpool Karaoke,' she’s not even driving the car!” We admire him leaning into the (non)controversy.[video_embed id='1909014']RELATED: BTS Carpool Karaoke is finally here—and it’s glorious[/video_embed]James then put out an incredible offer to Nanne. He promised her that the next time he’s in Sweden, or should she ever visit Los Angeles, they will get together and have their very own "Carpool Karaoke." OMG, Nanne drop whatever new James Corden bop you're writing and get to Burbank City pronto. This is the kind of international relations we like to see.Eurovision has had a major hand in launching the careers of some of the world’s biggest pop stars, including Céline Dion and Abba. Most recently, the 2014 Eurovision launched the career of Conchita Wurst whose performance garnered such a strong reaction internationally, that he amassed big fans in the likes of Cher and Elton John.Watch The Late Late Show with James Corden weekdays at 12:37 pET on CTV.[video_embed id='1905422']BEFORE YOU GO: Channing Tatum and Jessie J share steamy pics on social media[/video_embed]
