The 2019 Academy Awards may have been missing a celebrity host, but there was nothing missing when it came to sweet moments with celebrities. We loved seeing how excited Lady Gaga was when Olivia Coleman won Best Actress. Watching Rami Malek gush about his costar and real-life girlfriend Lucy Boynton gave us butterflies. We jumped for joy when Spike Lee jumped for joy after winning for Best Adapted Screenplay, although we couldn’t jump as high without our own pair of all-gold Air Jordans. Then there were the sweet moments we didn’t see on screen, one of which was the Twitter exchange between presenter Chris Evans and actor Jamie Lee Curtis.
If there was an Oscar for Best Gentleman, it would’ve gone to Chris Evans. Captain America sprung into superhero mode when his seatmate Regina King got caught in her dress on the way to the stage to accept her well-deserved award for Best Supporting Actress for If Beale Street Could Talk. We noticed.
And Jamie Lee Curtis noticed.
The legendary actor was watching the Oscars from home and quickly jumped on Twitter to commend Evans for his manners and good upbringing. Curtis also pointed out that Evans looked handsome and well groomed, joking that she can make that comment because she just finished playing his mother in film.
And you look handsome AND well groomed! I just played his mother in a movie so I feel I can say that!

Evans, who is set to costar with Curtis in the Rian Johnson murder-mystery Knives Out, continued to be the cutest and thanked Curtis for her kind words. We have no doubt that a formal written note will accompany this tweet.
That means a lot coming from my on-screen mom 🙂 https://t.co/XnyHTj8nY0

Evans attended Sunday nights Oscars with his brother Scott, and we imagine that the pair spent the evening attending A-list parties where they politely thanked waiters for serving appetizers and held open doors for the other guests. Sidenote, #raisedwell and #greatgenetics.
