There are very, very few women who encapsulate “#goals” as completely as Jane Fonda. The 80-year-old Academy Award winner is not only an accomplished actress, she’s also a writer, political activist and everyone’s favourite fitness guru. So it’s only natural that Fonda has teamed up with Evine Live Inc on a new fitness venture. According to WWD, Fonda’s line will include “activewear, ath-leisure options, health and nutrition products, and fitness equipment.”

“I have a lifelong passion for fitness and health, not just because I look better when I take care of myself but because it makes me feel better and think better. I am excited about partnering with Evine because their strong marketing platform will allow me to bring my fitness knowledge and creative ideas to a market that is lacking strong offerings for women over 50,” says Fonda. “We are, after all, the fastest-growing demographic in the world.” Touché.

We’re pretty surprised this is Fonda’s first foray in apparel, considering her 1982 release of Jane Fonda’s Workout became the highest-selling VHS of all time. It’s hard to think of “’80s aerobics” without picturing Fonda’s legwarmers, tights and high-cut leotards.

Managing director of Evine’s brand development division Nicole Ostoya says of Jane, “Fonda has a lifetime of experience in the health and fitness industry. She holds the unique ability to relate to women of all ages and backgrounds. We love what she stands for as an artist, expert and activist.”

Even better, Fonda is committed to the environment and sustainability, and will even be involved in the brand’s factory selection. “What has been most impressive is her dedication to domestic production and executing quality and sustainable practices,” continues Ostoya.

Well, if there’s anyone we’d buy activewear from, it’s Jane Fonda.
