It’s Ms. Jackson, if you’re nasty
Janet Jackson and Wissam Al Mana are calling it quits. The two, who’ve been married for five years, became parents to son Eissa three months ago, but that’s not enough to keep them together. One source told Page Six that the split is amicable and the couple will co-parent their son, but others say they’ve been in trouble for a while.
“She thought he had become too controlling during the pregnancy and she had already allowed him to dictate her appearance and even the way she performed at concerts,” said a source who works closely with the couple, adding that he forced her to wear clothing that covered her body during her 2014 tour and she declined to do any wild music videos.
“It drove her crazy and she felt she was losing her fan base.”
According to Page Six, Jackson was doing all the compromising, making London her home after Al Mana insisted they live under strict Muslim custom, which included prohibiting the new mom from being seen in public while nursing the baby.
TMZ reports that Jackson’s net worth is about $175 million while Al Mana, a Qatari businessman, is estimated at $1 billion. They likely had a prenup but with a new baby and the divorce being announced right around the five-year mark, who knows what’s going to happen. Hopefully, for the sake of Eissa, everything goes as smoothly as possible.
Ooooh, wedding bells are SO ringing soon for Harry and Meghan
Aside from being an actress, an activist, and Prince Harry‘s girlfriend, Meghan Markle also ran The Tig, a lifestyle website. She created it about three years ago, calling it a “passion project” but it seems some passions don’t last forever.
Thank you to all the supporters of The Tig! From followers to contributors, you have become friends ❤ It is YOU who have made this Tig community so special. And even though I haven’t met most of you, for three years I’ve seen your faces and read your comments and hugged you from afar. (Domi, Em, Hannah, Sol, Iris, Doris, Jessy, Simone, Cassy….and so many more! I will always be grateful for your support). Go to @thetigofficial or thetig.com to see our official send-off. Sending all the love xx MM #TigFarewell
Markle’s official announcement of The Tig’s end is on the site’s homepage, and while it would be easy to assume that it’s coming to an end because of her relationship with Harry, a source told People that that’s not the case.
“The Tig has been a labor of love for Meghan, but it’s a full-time job,” said the insider. “She wants to focus on this season of Suits, which just starting filming and spending more time in the field on her philanthropy.”
Well, if she’s going to be a princess, she can’t have a blog. That’s not very royal-like. She also won’t be able to maintain her acting career, so those reports that the next season of her show is her last are probably true. Markle may claim that it has nothing to do with Harry, but it’s all unfolding exactly as it should if the couple is getting marriage-serious. We’re just counting down the months, at this point.
Aw, poor Kendall Jenner
Kendall is still feeling the backlash from her Pepsi ad, so much so that she’s hiding out while it all blows over. Well, she hopes it’ll blow over.
“Kendall is still not happy about the controversy,” a source told People. “She plans on laying low until things calm down.”
Hollywood Life reports that the model was grateful for the opportunity to work with Pepsi and “had such high hopes for it and now she’s terrified she will never work again or become a laughingstock.”
It’s still shocking that not one person — in her circle AND in all of Pepsi — realized just how bad this was. Sure, she didn’t come up with the creative but she’s 21. Yes, her world is very different than many, but even she had to know that the idea of a model brokering peace by handing a cop a Pepsi wasn’t exactly a brilliant concept. And now she’s upset and disappointed that what she thought was going to be a huge campaign ended up being loathed and, in the end, pulled off the air.
Pepsi apologized, even though Kendall’s a big girl who agreed to do the commercial and still get paid for it. But you know what would be cool? If she took her Pepsi paycheque and donated it to a relevant cause. That might help her in the woke department, and earn her back a little respect. A little.
Chrissy Teigen paid this woman’s tuition, WE LOVE HER
All Mercedes Edney wanted to do was go to esthetician school. She didn’t have the tuition money for it so like many nowadays, started crowdfunding for it. Edney explained her passion and turned to her Twitter and Instagram feeds, where she posts beauty tips.
“I know sometimes there is a stigma for asking for help, but this is a huge dream of mine and I am willing to do whatever I can to make it,” she wrote.
Edney needed $5,995 to start school in May, but before that, she had to pay the school $895 so they could hold her place. Edney was able to save her spot but she still needed help with the remaining balance. That’s where Chrissy Teigen came in.
On Friday night, Edney was shocked to get an alert saying a donation of $5,605 was made to her fundraising page, but was even more shocked to learn that Teigen stepped in to pay it all off.
@CruzanChoklate I’m really excited for you to live out your passion ❤❤❤

Teigen is THE BEST. Not many stars would step in like that but Chrissy is one of a kind. Thanks for being you, Chrissy.
Taylor Swift’s Beverly Hills home is declared a historic landmark
T-Swift isn’t new to the real estate game, and has properties in Nashville, Manhattan, Rhode Island and Beverly Hills but she must have been surprised to learn that her California home is actually a historic landmark.
Swifty bought the historic property in 2015 for $25 million. TMZ reports that the architecture of the estate, formerly owned by Samuel L. Goldwyn, is what makes it landmark-worthy, so if Tay wants to renovate or remodel, she will have to deal with a lot of red tape.
If Taylor’s plan was to build a recording studio, or do any sort of gut job to the home, she’d need approval from the Beverly Hills Historic Preservation Committee. Hey, at least she gets a huge tax break.
