All by herself

Janet Jackson knows exactly what it’s like to balance her career with her son. The single working mom of one — two-year-old son Eissa — is currently winding down her Metamorphosis residency at Park MGM in Las Vegas and recently admitted that she’s doing it all on her own.

“It is hard being a working mother,” she told the Daily Telegraph‘s Stellar magazine (via People). “I don’t have a nanny, I do it all myself.” Now, it’s not like Eissa is on stage while his mama is performing so Jackson did clarify that her son is cared for while she’s in the middle of performing or tending to other commitments. “Of course, when I’m working someone watches him, but it’s my baby and me.” And in June, she told The Sunday Times that she’s tried to alleviate her workload to spend more time with her son. “I’ve slowed down a great deal,” she said. “I don’t rehearse as many hours as I used to because of being with my baby. My days have been cut in half so I can spend that time with him. He comes to the rehearsals.”

Jackson keeps her Instagram sharing at a professional level, and no matter how closely you scour, you won’t find any pics of her boy, whom she shares with estranged husband Wissam Al Mana. She did, however, mention him during her speech after being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year, saying, “I want to thank my baby, my beautiful son. He wakes me up every single morning singing his own little melodies. He’s only two, you guys. I want you to know that you’re my heart, you’re my life and you have shown me the meaning of real, unconditional love. Mama loves you, Eissa, rah rah rah.”

Jameela Jamil shows off back fat in effort to stop the airbrushing in photos

Jameela Jamil continues to try and clean up the industry in which she works. Her latest mission: urging celebs to stop airbrushing their photos. In a series of tweets, Jamil shared a poster for the upcoming season of The Good Place, and in it, her “back fat” can be clearly seen. And Jameela couldn’t be prouder.

Some many fans tweeted their gratitude to Jameela for doing what she continues to fight so hard for, and even sharing their own images that they’ve kept secret. Until now.

Jamil added: “I know it’s hard because we are perpetually scrutinized and criticized in this industry, but I’m begging other influencers, actors, and models to join me in not allowing airbrushing. We have to stop setting standards for others that we ourselves don’t even meet. #letabitchlive.” YAAAS!

Swifty singing and dancing at a bar inspired all kinds of #DrunkTaylor memes

Taylor Swift celebrated her 10 VMA nominations with a huge bash on Saturday and in videos friends posted, Swift could not be stopped, nor could she be calmed down. Tay posted several photos from the night on Instagram, but admitted in her caption that she was leaving the memes to her fans, writing that they had “so much fun that ‘Drunk Taylor’ is trending on Twitter. CHEERS.”

And yes, yes it was. Though there was no actual proof that Swift was drunk, Twitter believed and made it happen.

Well, at least she won’t always be on her own.

Camila Cabello hanging out with Shawn Mendes and his parents is everything we could ever want

People still might not believe that Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes are really a couple and are faking their big summer romance in an effort to keep “Señorita” in the charts but things went to a whole other level on Friday. The singers were strolling through Brooklyn hand-in-hand before meeting up with Shawn’s parents. That’s kinda big, no?

The day before was Mendes’ 21st birthday, and according to E!, they “arrived together holding hands and everyone inside cheered for them as they walked in.” The insider added that Camila was “by his side the majority of the night” and she “planted a huge kiss on Shawn during the night and it was super cute.”

Whatever this is, please continue to bring it. We’ve lost Miley and Liam; we need another young couple to root for.

Genie Bouchard had this to say to Bianca Andreescu after the biggest win of her career

For Canada, Sunday’s women’s final of the Rogers Cup was going to make history no matter who won. Serena Williams was gunning for her first victory since becoming a mom while Bianca Andreescu was trying to be the first Canadian player to win the title in 50 years. But after back spasms continued, Williams had to call it a day and retired less than 20 minutes into the match.

While it wasn’t the way the 19-year-old from Mississauga wanted to win, she’s obviously still happy to maintain her win streak. Fellow Canadian Genie Bouchard took to Twitter to chime in, teasing Bianca about the win and perhaps making fun of her own game.

Many people didn’t like Bouchard’s tweet so she followed up with two more.

And one more, a little more sportsmanlike.

Can’t win ’em all, Genie. Bianca, on the other hand …
