Last month, while on the second leg of her tour, Janet Jackson announced a bit of a break. She broke the news in a video message on Twitter, revealing that “a sudden change” has resulted in her delaying performances while she and husband Wissam Al Mana focused on “planning our family.” Sure, sure, she didn’t actually SAY the words “I’m pregnant” but her giddy little pause before she dropped the news all but sealed the deal.

Sad for fans, but sweet, right?

Fast-forward a month, and coincidentally just days before Mother’s Day, ET Online is reporting that Jackson is definitely expecting her first child, just two weeks shy of her 50th birthday.

Janet and Wissam married in 2012 but they didn’t confirm the news until the following year. That would have been too long to hide their baby news because, let’s face it, there’s no hiding that.

And while Janet didn’t confirm the news herself, she did decide to release the video to her latest song, aptly titled, “Dammn Baby.” Uh-huh. We saw what you did there, J.

“It’s all about Love… #DammnBaby,” Jackson captioned the video. The single’s from her latest album, “Unbreakable,” a release that took her to the top of the charts last year.

In her April 6th tweet, she added that she had to “rest up, doctor’s orders” and promised she will continue the tour as soon as possible. According to her official website, Jackson’s doing just that and will return to the stage on May 14 in Las Vegas.

She’s not the first woman having a later-in-life pregnancy, nor will she be the last. She’s obviously under doctors’ care and she knows she definitely needs to take it easy. But if anyone can do it and balance it all, it’s Janet. Congratulations!
