Emerging from his own self-isolation to learn the rest of the world was also self-isolating must have been a shock. The Oscar-winning actor learned about the world-altering COVID-19 pandemic when he returned to civilization after hitting up the desert for a 12-day silent retreat. One that’s been changed forever. Mind blowing - to say the least.”Mind-blowing indeed.Reactions to Leto’s bewilderment ranged from sympathetic to downright disturbed. But Leto isn’t known for his run-of-the-mill practices, taking his method acting techniques to extreme lengths while filming Suicide Squad. According to reports, Leto wouldn’t break character during the entire time filming in Toronto, and reportedly sent “character gifts” to his co-workers. Among them was Margot Robbie, who received a rat from her co-star.Leto’s next Marvel film, Morbius, casts him as a living vampire in a Spider-Man antihero-like mold. The titular character, Dr. Michael Morbius, is a scientist suffering from a rare blood disease who attempts to cure himself with a strain of vampirism. This turns him into a creature with increased speed, echolocation and strength. And of course, an insatiable thirst for blood. You know, vampire stuff.Other stars who have taken to social media about the pandemic have expressed concern over the situation, and given messages of hope and solidarity. John Legend gave an Instagram Live concert, because we love him. Kristen Bell reposted tips on how to teach your kids about germs, and Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are donating $1M to Canadian and U.S. food banks.
