It feels like so much longer, but it was only three days ago that we learned the tragic news of Luke Perry‘s passing. The Beverly Hills, 90210 and Riverdale star suffered a stroke and never recovered. If you were on social media at all that day, you knew that Perry, who was surrounded by his children and other family and close friends until the very end, made an impact on everyone he came into contact with, whether it was family, friends, or other actors who had a chance to work with him.

While many had immediate, visceral reactions to Perry’s death, Jason Priestley had to take a couple of days and sit with his thoughts and feelings before sharing the perfect requiem. And it really is quite perfect.

Jason probably had a ton of photos to choose from but he couldn’t have picked two better ones. The bottom pic from back in the day showed Priestley trying so hard to keep a straight face while trying to maintain that smoulder, while Perry’s pose came so effortlessly. The top pic is sheer joy and while Jason has a full-on grin, Luke’s happiness is told through his eyes. Both men, two princes.

It’s been a rough ride for all the 90210 alum, who have also paid tribute to their friend and remembered Luke in their own ways.

Feels like a dream….a terrible nightmare. I still can’t believe it. I wasn’t part of the original cast of 90210, but my experience of working on the show, I will always hold dear to my heart. I ran into Luke a few years ago at a mutual friend’s party. It truly was so nice to see him and catch up. He was always so kind. Flying home yesterday after a fun weekend with my dad, I heard the tragic news. Shocked and heartbroken, I found myself weeping in my seat. Life is fleeting and so incredibly fragile. It’s simply too short to waste on anger and negativity. We need to love each other more, hate less, and live each day like it is our last. We just never know when that day will come. 😥💔 I can’t believe he’s gone. My heart goes out to his family, and to all of those who loved him.
