Not to be outdone by the Sussexes (who settled into a new high-priced home in Santa Barbara recently), Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguex have picked up another multi-million-dollar property to add to their real estate portfolio. The couple have purchased a home base in Miami Beach for a cool $40 million—a spot on Star Island’s waterfront does not come cheap. The couple’s new home features 10 bedrooms and 10-and-a-half baths (so lots of room for the blended fam which includes JLo’s two kids and A-Rod’s two offspring). From the looks of the Realtor.com listing, the Lopez-Rodriguez group will really be able to stretch their legs while in Florida, with the state currently making up a quarter of all infections in the U.S. That is, if they even decide to move in. A piece of real estate like this might just be an investment for the couple (and a safer one than buying, for example, the New York Mets).[video_embed id='6017054773001']RELATED: JLo and ARod are sunglasses designers too now[/video_embed]If they do decide to settle in, the backyard, complete with palm trees and a gigantic pool, will give the couple and their kids very little reason to venture beyond the property’s high, protective walls. From the backyard, there’s a view of the Miami skyline that really can’t be beat plus a private dock. Inside, the home boasts a wood-paneled bar with adjoining wine cellar, an industrial chef’s kitchen, and more marble than a five-star hotel. In fact, the home kind of resembles a high-end tropical getaway—though we’ve never seen a resort with a walk-in closet like this place has.The Star Island spot isn’t the couple’s first waterfront home. As PageSix reports, Lopez and Rodriguez previously enlisted former reality TV Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines to help them flip and offload a house in Malibu. And as TMZ relays, they also own a place in Coral Gables, Florida. And this isn’t the only home they’ve bought even in the last few months either. In July, JLo picked up a green, environmentally-friendly house in L.A. for the bargain basement price of $1.3 million. No word on whether or not any of the Selling Sunset agents were involved in the deal but we can dream, right?[video_embed id='2012543']BEFORE YOU GO: Our host got attacked by a fly on live TV[/video_embed]
