Justin Timberlake made headlines earlier this month, and not for a good reason. The singer-turned-actor was photographed holding hands and sitting closely with his 'Palmer' co-star Alisha Wainwright at a bar in New Orleans during a break from filming. Timberlake has since publicly apologized to his family, including wife Jessica Biel, and a source says that Biel won’t end the couples’ marriage over the scandal.A source close to the couple told People that Biel thinks Timberlake crossed a line by holding Wainwright’s hand, but doesn’t believe the indiscretion went any further. “Obviously Justin drank too much this time, but Jessica believes he didn’t cheat on her,” said the source, who notes that Biel’s desire to keep their marriage intact for their 4-year-old son Silas is the most crucial aspect of the scandal. “What’s most important to her in life is her family and being the best mom to Silas. She’ll never break up her family over something like this.”Timberlake apologized for the indiscretion in a December 4 post on his Instagram, writing that he displayed a “strong lapse in judgement” after drinking too much, saying that this was not the example he wants to set for his son. “I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best father I can be.” Timberlake ended the letter by saying that he looks forward to fans seeing his new movie Palmer, with production continuing after the photos were published. The source notes that Timberlake’s public apology is only a fraction of the work he’s doing privately to make up to his wife, whom he married in 2012. “I don’t think he would do anything to change his current situation,” said the source. “He has grown up a lot over the past few years and enjoys every minute of being a dad. He even likes the added responsibilities.” The source added, “I doubt it will happen again.”According to US Weekly, it was Biel who encouraged Timberlake to post a public apology, with a source telling the magazine “Jessica encouraged Justin to put out his statement on Instagram because she felt embarrassed by his actions and wanted him to take accountability.”Timberlake may have apologized to his wife, but fans are demanding the actor speak up for his other ‘lapses’ in judgement. Following Timberlake’s Instagram post, Bette Midler tweeted that Timberlake still owes Janet Jackson (and her boob) and apology for the pair's 2004 Super Bowl halftime show performance. Jackson issued a public apology and saw her career negatively impacted over the scandal, while Timberlake remained quiet for years. Other fans have dived into Timberlake’s dating past, which may include other incidents of cheating.
