Jessica Simpson reveals shocking 100-pound weight loss

Jessica Simpson is focusing on her fitness and making some big changes. Only six months after giving birth to daughter Birdie Mae, Simpson has revealed that she’s dropped 100 pounds. That seems like a lot in six months, right? She gave birth to a person and then lost an entire person.Simpson revealed her dramatic weight loss on Tuesday, posting a picture of herself on Instagram in all-black (slimming, we feel you girl), and getting real with fans. “Six months. 100 pounds down (Yes, I tipped the scales at 240),” wrote Simpson, who welcomed her third child on March 19. The singer was posing in preparation for a night away from her young daughter, with the first trip sans-baby inspiring Simpson to share her weight loss journey and take a moment to reflect on the hard work she put in following the birth of Birdie Mae. “My first trip away from #BIRDIEMAE and emotional for many reasons, but so proud to feel like myself again. Even when it felt impossible, I chose to work harder.”
Simpson’s new picture and message of hard work and determination struck a chord in her followers, with the snap garnering more than half a million likes in less than 24 hours. Some of Simpsons most famous friends took the opportunity to applaud the singer and fashion designer, with Simpson’s brother-in-law Evan Ross writing “U look amazing sis.” Katie Couric wrote “You look amazing!!!,” with Housewife Kyle Richards adding “Gorgeous.” Simpson even received blessings from health-guru (ish) Gwyneth Paltrow, who left a simple “Unstoppable” on Simpson’s page through the Goop account.The pressure on women to lose weight after having a baby is high, with celebrities often presenting unrealistic standards that are the result of full-time trainers, chefs, and in some cases, surgical intervention. In the case of Simpson, the petite singer has been transparent with fans about her dramatic weight fluctuations with each pregnancy.

Although Simpson looks great at any weight, we love hearing that the singer is feeling comfortable in her skin and is focusing on fitness and eating healthy. A source close to the fashion mogul told People that Simpson is “working hard and working out and eating healthy and trying to get back in her best shape and excited for what’s ahead. She’s trying to get back to her healthiest place.” The insider continues, saying “And she just wanted to get to a place where she feels her healthiest. She’s not focused on the number, but on feeling her best self.”In July, Simpson said that she was focusing on cardio and improving her diet following the birth of Birdie Mae. “I am working really hard right now. It’s not easy at all, but I am determined to feel good. I have been doing a lot of walking — getting my steps in not only burns calories but it also helps me clear my head and get focused,” Simpson told People. “I am eating healthy too — I discovered I really like cauliflower. Who knew it could be a substitute for almost anything?!” We knew.
