It’s been amazing to see such supportive and heartfelt responses from so many groups, public figures and companies in the past few days. After the tragic shooting in Orlando, FL, people have really pulled together and shown immense support for the victims and their families.

JetBlue is easing a great burden for out-of-state families, in particular, by offering free airfare to and from Orlando to immediate family members and domestic partners of those killed or injured in the shooting. They’re also waiving last-minute flight change fees for customers travelling in and out of the Orlando airport until June 18th. This little financial break will be an incredible help to families who not only have to grieve, but also contend with funeral costs or medical bills.

The airline’s partnering with other local Orlando businesses too in support of the OneOrlando Fund, a fund created by the city to ‘help respond to the needs of the community, now and in the time to come.’ More specifically, the foundation focuses on non-profits that are helping victims and their families, the local LGBTQ and Hispanic communities and the ‘underlying causes of the event.’

In light of such tragedy, it really is wonderful to see a global community come together to help each other out.
