We’ll have to wait until September to see the ensemble flick Hustlers in theatres, and next Wednesday before the first trailer drops, but we just got a sneak peek at what will surely be one of the hottest films of the year and it did not disappoint. Hustlers features an all-star cast of Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B, Constance Wu, Keke Palmer, Lili Rhinehart and Lizzo, with the women appearing as exotic dancers who work together to earn big paydays from their high-rolling clients.

The drama follows a group of former strip club employees who band together to work against their Wall Street clients. The movie is inspired Jessica Pressler’s New York Magazine article “The Hustlers at Scores,” with Julia Stiles starring as Elizabeth, a character based on the journalist. Pressler’s article went viral after it was released in 2015, with the journalist often taking a sympathetic view of the group of strippers she interviewed. The controversial piece included candid accounts by the women, who often drugged their rich Wall Street clients, making it easier to steal from them while they were incapacitated. The men who frequented the Manhattan club Scores looking for a good time often left with thousands of dollars missing from their wallets and huge bills waiting on their credit cards at the hands of the so-called hustlers.

The official Hustlers trailer won’t be released until July 17, but in a new social media sneak peek, viewers are introduced to the film’s cast with blink-and-you’ll-miss-them clips of the women showing off their dancing and money-making skills.

The cast is led by JLo, who plays Ramona and continues to be our gym-and-everything-else inspo.

Fellow popstar turned actor Keke Palmer appears as Mercedes in the new film; Crazy Rich Asians star Constance Wu plays a dancer named Destiny; Riverdale actor Lili Reinhart is taking a break from her role as Betty Cooper to play Annabelle; Lizzo brings the “Juice” as a dancer named, well, Liz; Madeline Brewer plays Dawn opposite Mette Towley’s Justice; former showgirl and Transparent star Trace Lysette appears as Tracey.

And last but not least, rapper Cardi B, who spent years working as an exotic dancer in her native New York, makes her feature film debut as Diamond. You might recognize the rapper’s 2018 single “Money” as the backing track for the new teasers, a fitting choice for the upcoming film.

The Grammy winner made waves earlier this year when she admitted to drugging and robbing men during her time as a stripper, saying that she “made the choices that I did at the time because I had very limited options.”
