When you think of John Grisham only one thing comes to mind. Legal thrillers. But the famous author is switching it up with his newest book and he wants you to have it for free.
There’s no court house. There are no lawyers. Instead, there’s a man named Paul, his little family (wife and three kids) and a brain tumor. But we’re sure you already guessed that since the book’s cover (pictured above) says it all: “A non-legal thriller The Tumor.”
So why is Grisham giving this non-Grisham-like book away to anyone who wants it? According to the Washington Post, he says it’s the most important book of his career because “The Tumor has the potential to one day save or prolong millions of lives.”
Apparently, Grisham hopes his 38th book will educate people about a medical device called focused ultrasound, the book’s hero.
According to the Post, focused ultrasound is a real life non-invasive treatment in development for cancer and other diseases that uses energy beams to destroy diseased tissues. Grisham believes that his free book will raise awareness and help boast donations to advance this technology.
