John Oliver doesn’t like creme eggs. But, he does love YouTube conspiracy theory videos, and who could blame him? There have been few theories more compelling recently than the one that tries to convince us that Katy Perry is actually JonBenet Ramsey… until now, that is!

Oliver dedicated an entire segment on Last Week Tonight to his takedown of everyone’s favourite (OK, second favourite after Mini Eggs) Easter treat. It has all the makings of an instant classic; Illuminati connections, Bono references, a tie to Germany’s gold reserves, and most importantly, the wildest of wild accusations. Check it out for yourself and just try not to fall down the conspiracy rabbit-hole.

Even if you weren’t convinced by the spinning web of connections he wove, you can surely appreciate his vivid description of the eggs: “mermaid placenta covered in candle wax” is enough to make us never eat one again. So, basically, conspiracy proven.
