We thought the mess that was Johnny Depp and Amber Heard‘s marriage was over, but it seems we still haven’t heard the last of it. In case you’re not up to date on the latest in celeb douchebaggery, here’s a refresher: Amber filed for divorce in May, during the proceedings, she accused Johnny of abuse, supportive loved ones put in their two cents and the two eventually settled the case in August. He agreed to pay Amber a $7-million settlement, and she promptly pledged the entire amount to two charities. So, as you do (no, you don’t) Depp quickly announced that he would donate the $7 million directly to the charity, taking Amber out of the equation.

Now TMZ is reporting that the charities haven’t gotten their money, and while the gossip site is blaming Heard, the reality is that she and Depp have yet to sign the final settlement documents. Apparently, Johnny still “wants to pay the money directly to the charities but she wants the money sent to her” because Amber doesn’t want her ex to get a tax deduction. Understandable. Why should he be rewarded for her generosity?

Heard’s lawyer, Pierce O’Donnell, told TMZ he expects the settlement to be squared away soon. “The settlement documents are being finalized and will be signed this week. Johnny is obligated by the settlement to pay Amber, and she in turn will honor her pledges to Children’s Hospital and the ACLU.”

Hmm, what a coincidence this is all going down after Amber’s PSA about domestic violence was released over the weekend. Heard never mentioned his name so no confidentiality-type agreements were violated but she definitely got the point across. And Depp must’ve hated that and will probably drag this out longer to make her suffer. The sad thing is, the only ones suffering are the charities. Can this grossness just be over already?
