Johnny Galecki ended his run as Leonard Hofstadter on The Big Bang Theory earlier this month with the storyline that he was expecting his first child with wife Penny (Kaley Cuoco). Take away the doctorate and replace Cuoco with Galecki’s real-life girlfriend Alaina Meyer and everything is pretty much the same. Hopefully minus the crippling insecurities. Galecki and Meyer announced their pregnancy in May and after a messy gender reveal party this past weekend, the couple have now confirmed it’s a boy. Mazel tov!

The couple celebrated with a party on Memorial Day and invited friends and family to their home to cover themselves, and each other, with blue paint. Galecki shared a picture of the pair kissing, writing, “A day I’ll never forget.”

Meyer also shared a picture from the party, praising her partner as “a generous, loving, chivalrous fellow.”

Appearing on The Talk earlier this month, Galecki’s longtime friend Sara Gilbert recalled the moment Johnny told her that Meyer was pregnant, causing Gilbert to burst into tears of joy. Galecki admitted that he would “kind of prefer a girl,” but quickly added that a healthy baby was the most important thing.

Galecki initially shared the news about Meyer’s pregnancy on May 3, posting a picture of the couple together and writing “We are absolutely over the moon to announce that we will soon be welcoming a little one into this crazy and wonderful world. We ask that you please respect our privacy during this celebratory time for us and our families. There truly is love out there for all. We hope ours is the ember of yours, as we feel yours is the ember of ours.” Admittedly, we don’t totally get the ember thing, but we’re always down to talk about babies.
