In this wild world, you got to be prepared to take whatever crap life throws your way and spin it into the closest thing resembling gold you can. And it looks like that’s exactly what former-Kardashian-Jenner bestie Jordyn Woods is doing with all the drama of the past few months. In March, Jordyn was tearfully defending her honour on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk and now she’s announcing her acting debut.

In an Instagram post Wednesday, Jordyn revealed that she’s guest starring on the upcoming season of Grown-ish.

“This was the first role I’ve ever booked and I was nervous at first but I got past that and had the best time,” she captioned the post. “take risks and stay consistent to your journey, you never know what the world has to offer.”

An inspiring message, but also a little shady, no?

Woods didn’t share any details about her character, but People is reporting that she’ll play a college student named Dee who is a “sweet soul with a soft-spoken and sincere vulnerability” and appear in the latter half of the season as Yara Shahidi’s Zoey navigates the second semester of her sophomore year of college.

In general, fans seem to be happy to see Jordyn pick herself up, dust herself off and strike out on her own sans Kardashians. Woods has been on the outs with the family since she was caught partying with Tristan Thompson, the father of Khloe Kardashian’s daughter, in February. There were allegations of cheating, inconsistent accounts of the situation and a whole lot of he said, she said, she said, she said. In the end, the Kardashians backed Khloe and Jordyn was left out in the cold.

Looks like Jordyn’s making the best of the situation and turning her bad publicity into a career opportunity.

Maybe she really is a Kardashian at heart.
