It’s pretty crappy when your boyfriend dumps you days before Valentine’s Day. But you know what’s not-so-crappy? Having angel Taylor Swift come to your rescue.
We’re convinced the 25-year-old pop star skipped the human birthing process and just fell directly from heaven. Sounds a bit crazy, but how else can we explain the fact that — on top of all her other good deeds — she gave breakup advice to a fan and created a personalized “break up/moving on” playlist for her?!
Swifty fan Kasey Andrew AKA nevergooutofstyle (on Tumblr) is the poor girl who got kicked to the curb earlier this week. Heartbroken by the breakup, Andrew took to her blog and asked Taylor for advice.
Ouch, that’s brutal. T-Swift, who’s an avid Tumblr user herself, saw the note and decided to impart some wisdom and, boy, was it good.
That’s some sound advice from TayTay — who sounds like she’s good girlfriends with Andrew and not, you know, an international pop phenomenon. Also, let’s not forget that she made the girl her very own breakup playlist (below). we’re totally keeping this in our back pocket — just in case.
Is anyone actually surprised that Taylor’s so good at this? She’s been giving dating advice for years with her very public breakups, makeups and subsequent love songs about said relationships. Don’t believe us? Here are some love quickies from Swift’s songs:
Teens, don’t fall for it, Swift says: “When you’re fifteen and somebody tells you they love you you’re gonna believe them. And when you’re fifteen, don’t forget to look before you fall. I’ve found time can heal most anything, and you just might find who you’re supposed to be…” — “Fifteen”
She gets lonely too when Christmas comes around, single folk: “I’ve been doing fine without you, really. Up until the nights got cold. And everybody’s here, except you, baby. Seems like everyone’s got someone to hold, but for me it’s just a lonely time ’cause there were Christmases when you were mine.” — “Christmases When You Were Mine”
Tay thinks your crappy ex can suck it: “You go talk to your friends, talk to my friends, talk to me (talk to me). But we are never ever ever ever getting back together.” — “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”
Date how many guys you want, she says: “Got a long list of ex-lovers, they’ll tell you I’m insane. But I’ve got a blank space, baby. And I’ll write your name.” — “Blank Space”
And, finally, let’s not forget that she helped her BFF Selena Gomez get over Justin freaking Bieber.
“She [Swift] was actually at my house the other day, and we were sitting by the fire and I was talking about relationships and business in my life,” Gomez told The Talk. “She just kind of looked at me and was like, ‘Selena, if you’re the smartest person in the room, I think you’re going to be in the wrong room.‘ She thinks I should constantly surround myself with people who are going to make me better, that are going to challenge and motivate me.”
T-Swift is just overflowing with love knowledge and we’re oh-so-grateful for it. Keep it coming, Tay. We all need it!
