It’s rare that we think to ourselves, “Beyoncé is just like us.” But when it comes to parenting, there are some things we all have in common. Top of mind for any parent of more than one child—sibling rivalry. And Beyoncé is no exception.

It can be tough for any five-year-old when a new brother or sister arrives, and they suddenly stop being ‘the baby.’ Multiply that by two, a brother AND a sister, add the Beyoncé/Jay-Z factor and Blue Ivy has a lot to contend with. It’s no wonder her mother had concerns that she would feel “left out” when it came time to share her parents.

Happily, it seems that Beyoncé’s in luck, with big-girl Blue taking to her new position with relish. The kindergartner “takes her job as a big sister very seriously and helps out a lot.”

As big sister Blue prepares to go back to school, we’re not surprised her mom thinks she’s growing up “way too fast,” we’d want to keep our little helper around a little while longer too.
