Justin Bieber has been accused of sexual assault by two women. Over the weekend, two Twitter accounts posted stories about separate incidents that reportedly took place in 2014 and 2015. The Twitter account for one woman, who remains anonymous, has been removed by Twitter, but the second account is still active. Late Sunday night, Bieber responded to the claims in a thread and shared emails, magazine articles and hotel receipts to contradict the facts of the assault claims. Bieber has also confirmed that he will be taking legal action in response to the allegations."I don’t normally address things as I have dealt with random accusations my entire career but after talking with my wife and team I have decided to speak up on an issue tonight," wrote Bieber. "Rumors are rumors but sexual abuse is something I don’t take lightly. I wanted to speak out right away but out of respect to so many victims who deal with these issues daily I wanted to make sure I gathered the facts before I made any statement."In a series of now-deleted tweets, an anonymous account by a woman using the name ‘Danielle’ said that Bieber assaulted her on March 9, 2014 when she was 21 and the singer was 20. Danielle alleged that the pair met after she attended Bieber’s surprise SXSW show in Austin, Texas. Danielle tweeted that Bieber invited her and her friends to his hotel room at the Four Seasons and separated her from her friends before sexually assaulting her in his room.Bieber has responded to the claims by sharing an article that confirms he was with then-girlfriend Selena Gomez on the night of his show. Bieber also shared multiple tweets to discredit Danielle’s claims that he stayed at the Four Seasons, providing email confirmation of his AirBnB reservation on March 9 and his hotel reservation at the Westin on March 10, which was booked under Bieber’s often-used alias Mike Lowery. A tweet from 2014 by a woman who said she saw Bieber at the Four Seasons quickly went viral and on Sunday, the Twitter user clarified that she saw Bieber at the hotel’s restaurant specifically. Bieber also said that he and his team have confirmed with Four Seasons management that he was never a guest at their hotel. On Saturday, a Twitter user named Kadi said that she was inspired to come forward after reading Danielle’s account of assault. Kadi said that her assault allegedly took place on May 4, 2015 in New York City at the Langham Hotel where Bieber was a guest. According to Kadi, she first went public with the allegations in 2017 following the #MeToo movement but was silenced by Beliebers and disowned by her family after sharing her story. Bieber has yet to respond to Kadi’s claims. In his thread on Sunday night, Bieber clearly stated that allegations of sexual assault are to be taken seriously, which is why he waited to respond to the tweets until he had collected information surrounding the dates in question. “Every claim of sexual abuse should be taken very seriously and this is why my response was needed,” tweeted Bieber. “However this story is factually impossible and that is why I will be working with twitter and authorities to take legal action.”On Sunday, cast members of Riverdale, including KJ Apa, Vanessa Morgan, Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart were also accused of sexual assault by several anonymous Twitter handles. It now appears as if the allegations were fabricated and Reinhart and Sprouse have both threatened legal action in response to the tweets. Bieber retweeted Sprouse on Sunday after the Riverdale actor wrote, “False accusations do tremendous damage to victims of actual assault. Furthermore, I would never seek to silence anybody. I encourage that people look into the accusations themselves, as the events detailed were factually untrue.” [video_embed id='1981879']BEFORE YOU GO: Ben Mulroney steps down as etalk anchor[/video_embed]
