Justin Bieber must-ache you a question: did you really believe he was going to keep that controversial hairline growing over his upper lip for much longer? That’s right—despite defending his ‘stache to all of the haters out there over and over again, it was razors out over the weekend when Baby Face Biebs made an official comeback. In an Instagram post on February 16 with the banner “Baby Face BIEB,” Bieber showed off his fresh, smooth-skinned look that still has just a tiny hint of stubble on his chin and jawline. “I shaved. MUSTASHIO went on holiday, but he will be back in due time,” the “Changes” singer promised. So far, nearly 2.5 million people have already expressed their approval with the old “like” button.

The comments on the post have also been on fire since it went public. Bieber’s wife Hailey Baldwin seemed into the look with a simple, “yeeeeee” and a heart-face emoji, while everyone else, from MTV to Scooter Braun, showed support and love. “Where the hell is ricardo mustachio?? What have you done with him???” Biebs’ long-time manager joked. [video_embed id='1898952']RELATED: Justin Bieber holds 'Changes' album listening session with famous fans[/video_embed]Not to deprive true fans of the actual moment, Bieber also captured the entire facial funeral in his stories. In a series of six videos he used an electric razor to eliminate the thing while The Rolling Stones’ “Miss You,” Kelly Clarkson’s “Since You’ve Been Gone,” and Throttle’s “Hit the Road Jack” played in the background. Before that, perhaps to foreshadow the moment, he also shared snippets of his new song, “At Least For Now.” As fans are well aware, the 25-year-old has had a bit of a history with his facial hair. There have been many instances over the years where he’s tried to grow his own ‘stache, and it all seems to stem back to when he was 16 years old and appeared on The Graham Norton Show. It was there that he met John Waters—a dude known for having a killer ‘stache. At the time Bieber was full of compliments for Waters, and Waters even drew a mustache onto the popstar, which seemed to make him happier than a bird with a French fry. Mustachio haters may have Baldwin to thank for Bieber finally getting rid of his ‘stache-status. She’s made it clear that she wasn’t a fan of the look, but according to People the louder the haters got, the more incentive Bieber had to keep it. And, you know, team up with Dude With Sign and run fake protests about it“For now, Justin is amused,” a source told the publication. “There are so many things to worry about in the world, and this is what people focus on. The more people want him to shave it off, the more he wants to keep it. It’s staying for now. It’s making him feel like a rebel and he likes it!” Well, he may no longer be a scruffy rebel, but as his hot new album proves, Changes are always afoot—"Never Say Never” to a Mustachio comeback.
