The most likely answer is that Bieber is dropping new music. In November, Bieber filed trademarks for the term R&Bieber, a phrase he also posted on Instagram along with camera, eyes and musical note emojis. New album, who dis? R&Bieber, that’s who. Following that announcement, Justin also let his fans know that if another Instagram post got 20 million likes, he would release an album before Christmas. Bieber has been actively releasing new pieces of his very loud fashion line Drew House, with the clothing label bearing his middle name, Drew. The smiley face fashion collection of sweatshirts, sweatpants, toques and cell phone stickers has been seen on Millie Bobby Brown, Big Sean and Toronto Maple Leafs player Auston Matthews, so it’s possible that 2020 could feature even more pieces from Drew House. Speaking of Matthews, Bieber’s 2020 project could include some type of crossover with hockey. The Canadian superstar is a devoted Toronto Maple Leafs fan, often posting pictures of players on his social media. Bieber and his wife Hailey Bieber have been spotted at numerous games and Justin grew up playing hockey. The Leafs don’t need help selling tickets, but it could be interesting to see Bieber follow in Drake’s footsteps with the Toronto Raptors and become the team’s official ambassador. Following his marriage this year to Hailey Baldwin, his commitment to therapy and his renewed faith, Bieber appears to be favouring a lot of introspection. Most recently, the singer publicly apologized for his previous mistakes, including making racially insensitive jokes and opted to “take ownership of all my shortcomings.” Could Bieber be starting a social movement to help destigmatize mental health, while also encouraging others to seek treatment in order to better deal with their own issues and behaviours?
