Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has always celebrated Halloween. He dressed up as Han Solo during his first year in office and last year he went as the pilot from the French children’s book Le Petit Prince, which made sense as his youngest son, Hadrien, dressed up as the title character. This year, the whole Trudeau family tackled the superhero genre.
OK, almost the whole family. Four out of five ain’t bad.

In case you were wondering, that’s Sophie and Ella-Grace as two versions of Wonder Woman, Xavier as a werewolf, Justin as Clark Kent and Hadrien as Skye from Paw Patrol. Yep, not only do boys rock pink but Skye also happens to be the only original female character in the kids’ show. Amazing.
But it’s the PM’s costume that had the Internet losing its mind. On his way to Question Period on Tuesday, Trudeau walked down the stairs looking a tad nerdy with his slick hair and glasses … before ripping open the top of his button-down to expose the Superman costume underneath.

Oh, yes. Yes, he did. It may not have been a bird, or a plane, but it was the next best thing. Love that our Prime Minister has a little fun with the day. He’s got young kids, so it makes sense, plus the costume itself was jokey for his position, albeit a little self-aware, wink, wink. Then to go straight from Parliament to trick-or-treating with his family? That’s super. And people loved it.
