On Sunday’s episode of  Love Island (Monday-Sunday, 9pm on CTV), every Islander was left in tears, but not because of a painful recoupling or mean Twitter thread. Instead, the Islanders got to video chat with their families whom they haven’t seen in weeks, finally learning what their loved ones think of their new partners. Some parents are already planning the wedding while others would like to see some improvements. As Caleb eloquently explained, being on Love Island means your parents and your partners’ parents have seen every intimate moment, conversation, disagreement and mistake you’ve made from the first moment of your relationship. Huh. When you put it that way, we really hope everyone gets to keep their monogrammed water bottles. It’s the least the producers could do.

CALEB AND JUSTINE

Justine has been worried for weeks about whether her parents are proud of the decisions she’s made in the Villa. Thankfully, our queen Justine was celebrated by her mom and twinning sister, receiving a celebratory dance and nothing but love for Justine and her boo, Caleb. Justine’s mom even said she felt like Caleb was a lot like Justine’s dad, which made Justine and everyone watching cry. Caleb’s parents were equally happy with his pick, including Caleb’s dad, who said Justine was his top choice. He was also quick to commend his son for his actions while on the show, saying “I love that you’re the role model for how all the young men should treat their queens.” Ugh, same! Daddy C also put Arielle on notice by showing off his hosting skills, asking Caleb whether Justine was "the one."“Justine is everything y’all taught me to look for in a woman and everything that I’ve grown to like in a woman. I mean everything I say when I say that I can see myself spending a future with her. She has all the qualities that you look for in a wife,” said Caleb. “Justine may very well be the one.” OMG PLEASE GET MARRIED ALREADY WE NEED SOMETHING GOOD IN 2020. After getting both their families' blessings, Caleb and Justine talked about getting everyone together for a party (Caleb: “That’s called a wedding”) and touched on the importance of their relationship being shown on screen. “A lot of people of colour, specifically Black people, don’t always get to experience privilege,” said Caleb, who became emotional again while discussing his father being proud of him. A healthy and loving relationship between a Black man and a dark-skinned Black woman being shown on TV? You. Love. To. See. It.

HERE’S JOHNNY

Moira and Calvin’s families were happy to see the former friends find love together and Lakeyn and Bennett’s families were happy to see their kids that they just saw last week (really, how long have these two been on the show–five minutes?). But Johnny and Cely’s family? They both had one topic to discuss and it rhymes with Nasa Tamor.Cely’s mom and siblings are willing to give Johnny a fresh start, but Cely’s brother was quick to caution Johnny against messing up again. Johnny’s parents also expressed their disappointment in his actions but did try to cover for him by blaming his age and the very weird situation on being put into a house with beautiful women for the sole purpose of being tempted away from your partner. Fair. Still, Johnny continues to complain that the conversation also goes back to his "one moment" at Casa Amor. It was a lot of moments. In the end, Cely reminded him that it's in the past and it's time to move forward. [video_embed id='2043220']ICYMI: The final recoupling sends a fan favourite home [/video_embed]

CARING CARRINGTON

Carrington was sweating like a Johnny at the thought of meeting Laurel’s parents, but they were pretty quick to give him a pass. Unlike Johnny, Carrington took his lumps and full responsibility, telling Laurel's parents “It sucks that I had to screw up but hopefully I’m better for it.” Carrington also got a lot of love from his parents and admitted that seeing the divorced pair together and spending more time with Laurel has made him soft. “It’s about time you got a little softer,” added Carrington’s dad.  We like emotional Carrington.Watch new episodes of Love Island Monday-Sunday, 9pET on CTV.[video_embed id='-1']BEFORE YOU GO: Husky and 4-month-old baby are already best friends [/video_embed]
