There are very few celebrity couples that you can classify as “#relationshipgoals”. Other than the obvious few (Chrissy Teigen and John Legend, Dax Sheperd and Kirsten Bell, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski) most celebrity romances are too on-again-off-again to keep up with. But from what Kaley Cuoco shared in her latest interview, we’re beginning to seriously applaud her relationship with equestrian Karl Cook.
Women’s Health recently published an interview with the sitcom star where she dished about her fitness journey, her childhood and her relationship with Cook. She explained how their love story came to be and how their relationship blossomed to where it is today. And then she hit us with the best relationship advice out there.
Cuoco said, “I like knowing, though, that I’m [financially] set, because I’ve taken it upon myself to do that. I like to tell my friends, ‘Always make sure you have your life going, and that you’re number one, so that anyone who comes into it—husband, or boyfriend, or girlfriend, however you roll—that’s just an added bonus to something you’re already creating’”.
She went on to share, “I don’t need Karl for anything. If Karl left me tomorrow, I’d be fine. And he knows that, and he would be fine too.”
From a distance, celebrity relationships can look all kinds of perfect, but we love how real Cuoco got — it’s the kind of advice you’d want to hear from a friend. Moreover, we love the message that she’s spreading about remaining independent. Sharing that she would be fine if her relationship were to end is about as honest — and inspiring — as it gets. Kudos, Cuoco!
