Kaley Cuoco and Karl Cook have been married for just over a year, and based on their respective Instagram accounts, they’re more in love than ever. But apparently there’s a reason they look so happy. Cuoco just dropped a bomb that every married couple may or may not need to know: she and Karl don’t live together.
“We have a very unconventional marriage, you know, we have different locations that we’re at a lot. We’re not together every single day,” she told E! News. “I think personally it’s important, it works well for us.” She added: “If you want to Instagram shame each other, Instagram shame each other.” And, boy, do they ever. “It just makes life really fun. He loves his Instagram posts, he’s his biggest fan.”
Cook’s posts have become famous for showing off photos of Cuoco looking less than her normal, adorable self. Unlike the gorgeous selfies on Kaley’s feed, Karl’s pics are much more candid. Take, for example, their respective anniversary posts from June 30; Kaley’s featured photos from their wedding day in 2018, and the pair looked so loved-up in the never-before-seen shots. Her caption was also packed with emotion: “Happy one year anniversary to my incredible other half! @mrtankcook I still can’t believe you’re mine and I’m never letting you go!” Karl’s post, on the other hand, featured Kaley at her most real; missing lashes, food in her teeth, twinning with one of their many pups, and, of course, sleeping. “Everyone posts wedding pictures amongst other idealized images on their anniversary, not me, these are images of my gorgeous wife I remember. I love you @kaleycuoco.” He even subtly shaded her in his caption. Damn.
Cuoco did, however, tell E! that she and Cook are currently building their “dream house” and will one day “be under the same roof forever,” but, for now, if it ain’t broke, why fix it? It also doesn’t hurt that he owns “literally, like, three pieces of clothing” and his whole side of the closet is all Kaley’s clothes because he has nothing to fill it. Heck, he even wears her shorts in a pinch, something that infuriates the actress.
Kaley and Karl aren’t the only celebs who find living apart works for them. Gwyneth Paltrow revealed in June that she and Brad Falchuk live together during their first year of marriage on a part-time basis. Wives and husbands everywhere are wondering how they can sign up for deals like theirs. No, but really. Something’s clearly working.
