Big, Bang, blubber

It’s a new year, which is always a good thing–we’ve survived another one. Yay us! For fans of The Big Bang Theory, however, it means the end is near, so it’s more sad than anything else. And it’s no different for the stars who are opening up, once again, about that dreaded day that is creeping up quicker than we all like to believe. In her Golden Globes red carpet interview with Ryan Seacrest, Kaley Cuoco confessed that it’s getting harder as the series winds down.

“Going into Season 12, we were like, ‘We’ve got a whole season and a lot of episodes,'” said Cuoco. “Now we’re on the second half and it’s starting to get a little heavy. There’s some tears welling up. I hope we pre-shoot the whole last episode because I don’t think I’ll be able to keep a dry eye.”

Johnny Galecki, who presented at Sunday night’s Globes with Cuoco and Jim Parsons, will also have an industrial-size box of tissues on-hand for his on-screen wife. “It’ll be very bittersweet,” he said. “There will be a lot of tears. I don’t know what we’re going to do with Kaley on the last episode — she’s going to be waterworks!”

We’re not ready!

Will and Kate went to church with The Queen

No, your eyes were not deceiving you. It’s no longer the holidays (booooooo!) but the Cambridges are still in Sandringham. And, as with Christmas services of the past, William and Kate joined The Queen at St Mary Magdalene Church for Sunday mass.

The couple wore blue — William in navy, Kate in a teal coat she wore a year ago in Norway — and both were smiling as they walked into and out of the church. No kids were in sight, so perhaps that’s reason enough to celebrate: some adult alone time. Yeah, we’d be grinning too.

Britney’s taking a break after her dad’s health scare

Family comes first for Britney Spears. The singer is going on hiatus from her Las Vegas residency to support her father, Jamie Spears, who is recovering after suffering a “life-threatening” colon rupture.

I don’t even know where to start with this, because this is so tough for me to say. I will not be performing my new show Domination. I’ve been looking forward to this show and seeing all of you this year, so doing this breaks my heart. However, it’s important to always put your family first… and that’s the decision I had to make. A couple of months ago, my father was hospitalized and almost died. We’re all so grateful that he came out of it alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him. I had to make the difficult decision to put my full focus and energy on my family at this time. I hope you all can understand. More information on ticket refunds is available on britneyspears.com. I appreciate your prayers and support for my family during this time. Thank you, and love you all… always.

“I am dedicating my focus and energy to care for my family,” Britney said in a statement to People. “We have a very special relationship and I want to be with my family at this time just like they have always been there for me.”

According to the mag, Jamie became ill two months ago and spent the next month in hospital. “After a long, complicated post-operative period, he is recuperating at home and gaining strength, and is expected to make a full recovery.”

The statement adds that Britney “has been tremendously involved with caring for her family, and as a result of [Jamie’s] health issues and ongoing recovery, she is going to take time off.”

The roles are reversed for Britney and Jamie, who still controls her conservatorship. The singer is still legally incapable of caring for her kids — and, in many ways, herself — so the irony is not lost on us. In the end, it’s all about what’s best for the family.

Adam Levine bought Ben and Jen’s old house

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner may have a close relationship in spite of their divorce, but in the wake of their split, they knew they had to sell one of their houses. Which meant a property in Pacific Palidades, Calif., was up for grabs. And after a few years on the market, Adam Levine finally caved.

The singer and Voice judge, his wife Behati Prinsloo and their two daughters just got the grand estate, and it didn’t come cheap. The sale price was $32 million — a steal compared to the original asking price of $45 million.

According to E! News, the 8,800-square-foot home features five bedrooms and eight bathrooms, a swimming pool, outdoor basketball court and a screening room. There’s also a two-bedroom, three-bath guesthouse, not to mention the other building that houses the art studio and gym.

Adam and Behati are the latest in a long line of stars who have lived in the home. Other than Ben and Jen, it had previously been owned by producer Brian Grazer and the legendary Gregory Peck. Not too shabby.

Stars are finally denouncing R. Kelly

It’s been a long time coming, but thanks to the recent airing of Lifetime’s R. Kelly docuseries, Surviving R. Kelly, celebrities are stepping up to support the women who allege they were sexually and physically abused by the singer.

John Legend was one of the only stars to speak out in the series and shared his thoughts on Twitter prior to the doc’s debut.

Chance the Rapper also made a brief appearance in the documentary and revealed his regret for collaborating with Kelly in 2015, saying, “We’re programmed to really be hypersensitive to black male oppression. It’s just prevalent in all media and when you see n— getting beat up by the police, it’s men.”

His full quote, according to Rolling Stone, continued: “But black women are exponentially [a] higher oppressed and violated group of people just in comparison to the whole world. Maybe I didn’t care because I didn’t value the accusers’ stories because they were black women.”

And other stars were quick to chime in after the doc aired, absolutely disgusted.

I lot of artists, song writers, producers, record execs, etc are very confused as to how to respond to what they’ve seen and heard. We’ve all been inspired by this man. We’ve all been witnesses to his musical genius. We have shaped and molded talent we sign after his musical image. We’ve invested so much of ourselves into this man that it’s hard for us to let go. I no longer have that issue. I whole heartedly apologize for not coming to this realization sooner. I CANOT separate the music from the monster! My 3 black daughters won’t let me. What hurts even more are the facilitators around him. His team, his record company, the promoters, the radio stations! There has to be a line drawn. Enough has to be enough at some point. Who are we saying is worth protecting if we let this continue? I choose the lives of these young black girls! I’m sick to my stomach! Let me also say this! There are more men guilty of these crimes! Lets make sure none of them slip through the cracks every again! You are no king because kings don’t treat queens like this! #RnBMoney #TheGeneral

Surviving R. Kelly, which aired from Thursday to Saturday, featured interviews with Kelly’s family members, former friends and colleagues, but most importantly, the women who claim that the singer used his power to sexually and physically abuse women and young girls. Hopefully their voices will continue to be heard.
