It was less than three weeks ago that Kanye West dropped by the Oval Office for a meeting with President Donald Trump. The rapper wore his MAGA hat, the two dudes hugged, it was your basic nightmare. But after months of publicly supporting arguably one of the worst humans on the planet, Kanye is distancing himself from the world of politics. (For now.)

In a mini-tweetstorm, Kanye clarified what issues and beliefs he does support, thanked his loved one for standing by him and added that he’s finally seeing clearly.

Kanye’s renouncement of politics comes after his connection to Blexit was reported earlier this week. He faced backlash for his involvement with the Blexit “movement,” which encourages African-Americans who are Democratic supporters to join the Republican party. His tweet made sure everyone knew that he had nothing to do with designing Blexit T-shirts for Candace Owens‘ (yes, that Candace Owens) campaign, a fact Owens acknowledged.

So now what? Is this the real deal, the real Kanye, tweeting with a clear mind and heart? Or was this Kim or Kris Jenner grabbing hold of Ye’s Twitter account because they simply couldn’t take it anymore? Whatever the case, we hope it lasts, even though the questions are real.
