It took them just over a week but Prince William and Duchess Kate finally made the trek to Frogmore Cottage to meet their new nephew, Archie, and visit with new parents Harry and Meghan. Granted, it’s been a busy week as William delivered a speech urging people to end wildlife crime, Kate visited a secret WWII spy base, while Harry followed in his late mother Diana‘s footsteps and hung out with some kids in Oxford.

Today, The Duke of Sussex visited Oxford to highlight the positive work being done in the city for young children, disabled people and the community at large. The Duke started his day meeting young patients at the Oxford Children’s Hospital. In 2016 at the @WellChild Awards, The Duke promised awardee Mikayla Beames he would visit her at hospital. Today, HRH was able to fulfill that promise and spend time with Mikayla and other patients and their families, along with the some of the extraordinary staff and teachers in the Hospital School who are on hand to support the young patients as they continue their studies whilst in hospital. Afterwards, The Duke of Sussex, in celebration of its 30th year, re-opened the OXSRAD Disability Sports and Leisure Centre, a facility first opened by his mother, Diana Princess of Wales in 1989. His Royal Highness felt honoured to pay tribute to her work and meet some of the people his mother met 30 years ago. This centre supports people with disabilities through sport and physical exercise – an area The Duke is particularly passionate about. HRH has seen the transformative effect sports, teamwork and exercise can have on people, not just physically but also for their mental fitness. The Duke’s final stop was at Barton Neighbourhood Centre to see the work of Thrive Teams, an initiative that supports at risk youth with access to education and employment. The Barton Centre includes a cafe, doctor’s office, sports hall, local police centre and food bank. The team there save nearly one tonne of food per day from being wasted and whip up some incredible meals for those that can’t afford to sustain themselves. Serving as a hub for this close-knit community, where 1 in 4 grow up in child poverty, this centre truly is a lifeline for its roughly 5,000 residents, but also an example of what can be achieved when we all come together.

And it looks like the Duchesses might start their own little royal moms’ club. A palace insider told Us Weekly that the women are “bonding over motherhood” and have “become closer than ever,” adding, “Meghan and Kate will be spending a lot more time together.”

As for the first meeting between Will, Kate and Archie, if you were hoping the Cambridges brought along George, Charlotte and Louis with them for the most royal playdate ever, we apologize for dashing those dreams.

But the little cousins aren’t the only ones who’ve yet to meet Archie. Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla reportedly postponed their scheduled visit this past weekend to a later date. According to The Express, royal expert Angela Mollard told The Morning Show that after Charles and Camilla were due to visit with the Sussexes on Sunday, it simply “didn’t happen.”

She theorized, “There’s been no explanation as to why that didn’t happen but when you’ve had a baby, you don’t know what the day is going to like. You don’t know what the night is going to be like. They might have gotten no sleep that night and they might just have said, ‘Look, can you make it another day?'”

Prior to Will and Kate, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are the only other royal members to have met baby Archie — that we know of. Because who can forget that glorious meeting?

As for Meghan’s side of the family, only her mom, Doria Ragland, has cuddled with Archie, probably minutes after he left the sanctity of Meghan’s womb.

But it looks like Meg’s bestie could be making a trip across the pond very, very soon. Jessica Mulroney posted a photo of her daughter as she packed for their first mom-and-kid vacay, and we can only assume/hope Meghan, Harry and Archie are about to get a couple of house guests. And hopefully there are a lot more to come. Bring on Meghan’s tribe!
