If you’re going to be mistaken for anyone, it’s probably flattering if it’s someone who looks like Kate Middleton. That’s just what happened to Kate Beckinsale. ICYMI, Beckinsale told her Instagram followers over the weekend that she had been hospitalized for a ruptured ovarian cyst, a story that was covered by many publications because, let’s be serious, this photo of her was quite concerning.

Turns out a ruptured ovarian cyst really hurts and morphine makes me cry. So thankful to everyone who looked after me #wobbly❤️

A post shared by Kate Beckinsale (@katebeckinsale) on

Just looking at it, you can’t help but want to give her a big hug. Thankfully, Kate’s next post was much lighter and not only included a headline of her recent medical issue but also the photo that accompanied the story. Because, wait one hot minute. That’s not Beckinsale; that’s the Duchess of Cambridge!

Kate’s reaction was perfect. Not only was she able to joke about getting back to duchessing, she also provided an update as to how she’s doing and sent well wishes to all the other females going through what she’s going through. Funny AND compassionate? That’s Beckinsale for you!

All kidding aside, USA Today apologized for the mix-up in Kate’s comments. “First and foremost, we’re glad to hear you’re feeling much better. We apologize for the image associated with this story. It appears our system pulled the first image in the photo gallery at the bottom of the story, instead of the image of you we put in the story. It just so happens the lead photo in the gallery is of Duchess Kate. We regret the error and are working to make sure this does not happen again.”

An honest mistake but, really, one that someone should have noticed before Beckinsale could get her hands on a screenshot of it, no? They’re both beautiful British brunettes, but that’s where the similarities end. Now, please bring on the memes where we see every other famous Kate accompanying the pic to Beckinsale’s post. Winslet, Hudson, Mara, McKinnon, Upton, Walsh, Moss, Bosworth, watch out.
