If you happened to see Duchess Kate out and about yesterday, then you may have noticed that she opted for something different than what she typically wears to engagements. The silhouette was unmistakable: the long, wide leg Jigsaw trousers, the Gucci pussy-bow blouse, the adorable Aspinal bag, it all seemed straight out of Meghan‘s style book, minus the bold choice in colour, of course. And we’re totally OK with these two borrowing things from one another’s closets because isn’t that what sisters are for? In any case, Kate looked great and that lavender shade was a beaut.

The Duchess of Cambridge visited the Henry Fawcett Children’s Centre to see how the Lambeth Early Action Partnership (LEAP) are using the Parent and Infant Relationship Service (PAIRS) to support parents, carers and their children. At the Centre The Duchess joined parents and their children for ‘Together Time’, which provides space for parents to enjoy being with their babies or toddlers and includes singing, use of child led play and interaction. The session is designed to support parents’ ability to understand their child’s cues, feel more confident in their parenting and strengthen their relationship with their child.
Gorgeous, right? In fact, let’s look at it again, in all its glory.

But upon closer examination, you might notice something. Something that’s not quite right. Hint: look at the cuffs.
Kate’s blouse today was worn backwards first of all. 2nd, it was Gucci which has had issues of racism the past few weeks&this is her second time wearing it in just as many weeks. What’s up with that?? 3rd, Meg got hate for her long trousers in Scotland but people love Kate’s? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/bDvYYWMDc1

It’s backwards! The cuffs are the telltale but once you really examine it, you’ll see the small infractions like the cut across the chest and the odd puckering around the armpit areas. And of course, the buttons, which as shown on the model above, are worn at the back.
Now, if anyone else did this, they would look ridiculous. Kate, on the other hand, pulls it off — she’s just that good. Really, though, anyone looking at this blouse would assume the buttons belong at the front. The way it should be worn is lovely as well, but back buttons are, frankly, a pain. If no one’s around to help, you have to do up the buttons partway, slip it over your head, then contort your body to get the rest of them. Meh.
Just like that time Meghan walked around with the tag still attached to her dress, Kate is also proving that a minor fashion faux pas isn’t necessarily a terrible thing. Meg looked great in that dress and Kate still managed to make her outfit look spectacular — backwards blouse and all.
