Can we all just agree that when it comes to fashion, Kate Middleton can do no wrong? Between her signature classic look, ability to find the most flawless accessories and perfect tresses and make-up, it always looks as though the Duchess has just walked off the pages of a magazine. We mean, given her oh-so-public life that’s certainly to be expected, but we all covet her style.
Case in point? Just days after her sister Pippa’s wedding (where she wowed with a custom-made Alexander McQueen dress that was to die for) Middleton attended the Chelsea Flower Show in a subtle but attention-grabbing floral frock from Rochas. The perfectly tailored piece was a showstopper to be sure, thanks to its gorgeous white flowers, rich green hue and cinched waistline.
Like most of the Duchess’s dresses, this one hit just below the knees with its pleated skirt, while the pretty slashed shoulder sleeves were the perfect cut for a spring-meets-summer event. Add in a flawless ponytail, some nude pumps and some lovely green earrings, and this is a look we’d all love to emulate at our next wedding or fancy function.
That’s probably why, despite the $1,950 US price tag (that’s roughly $2600 Canadian right now), the dress sold out almost instantly, as most of Kate’s fashionable picks do. Seriously, with price tags like these we’re going to have to start invoking that blogger who recreates Kate’s looks for a fraction of the cost.
Here’s the good news in all of this: if you do want to own a gorgeous spring dress like the one Kate did, we’re sure designers everywhere are already getting to work on recreating a version of it that will retail for even less. So keep your eyes peeled, because as Kate has proven on numerous occasions, her looks sell out fast.
