It’s been years — that’s right, years — since Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx started dating. But because they’re private people who don’t want to or feel the need to share their relationship with the world, they’ve kept it as low-key as it gets. We’re talking low-key of Gwyneth Paltrow/Chris Martin proportions.
Paparazzi have managed to sneak their way close enough to catch Katie and Jamie every now and again but in recent weeks, they’ve allowed themselves to be photographed a little more. Which leads us to Monday night’s Met Gala — where they finally showed up together and, most notably, didn’t dive into the closest dumpster to avoid the cameras. In fact, they posed side by side like an actual couple.

Now, they didn’t hit the pink carpet together (they’re not going to give us that gloriousness just yet) but JamKat did pose for photos inside the main hall of the Metropolitan Museum of Art as well as in front of the Instagrammable flower wall. And their arms were around one another so, yeah, we’re feeling it.
They also took the time to meet and pose with Cardi B, in all her glory. In fact, the ladies seemed to happily be bonding over the plumage on their respective dresses.
And Katie and Jamie even managed to wrench themselves away from each other to pose with other friends including Zac Posen and Andrew Garfield.
But we like them together best. Because it’s been a long time coming. The longest, really. Their romance began in 2013, shortly after Holmes’ divorce from Tom Cruise. While it’s admirable of them to not flaunt their relationship — and considering who they are, quite impressive, actually — we have to admit we’ve wanted a little peek. And now it’s like their hearing our calls.
In January 2018, Jamie and Katie got us all excited when they attended a Grammys party and looked all kinds of couple-y at the star-studded event. We really thought that was it, and we’d be seeing more and more of them. But they kept us on our toes and stayed on the down low for the rest of the year. That is, until December, when they celebrated her birthday in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, before heading to Miami to end the new year right—on jet skis, of course.
And in recent months, they’ve been photographed on the streets of NYC, sometimes on their own, other times with their kids. And now the Met Gala. Could it be that they no longer care who sees and knows about them? Because all we have to say is, it’s about damn time! Fine, one more time, just because. Swoon.
