There are some celebrities who don’t mind the rest of us knowing things about their personal lives. Then there are other stars who would rather dive into the nearest dumpster to get away from the people wielding cameras than have their business out there. Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx definitely fall into the latter category, and despite reports and rumours that the two are a couple and have been dating for four or so years, they’ve never confirmed it, nor have they even been photographed by the paparazzi together.

Until now.

TMZ has photos of Katie and Jamie walking on the beach, holding hands. And while our guess with any other couple would be that they just didn’t see the photographer, with his telephoto lens, hanging from a faraway tree, this isn’t just any other couple. This is the couple who has eluded media for years on end. Walking. In public. On a beach. Holding hands. Having their picture taken. So, maybe, just maybe, they’re finally done hiding.

E! News reports the couple spent the Labour Day long weekend together at a friend’s beach house, with a source saying, “Katie and Jamie were holding hands” and “drinking together,” “splashing around,” and were generally close. Well, if they have been together for as long as we think, then, yeah, they’re pretty damn close.

It was just a few months ago that Foxx lied to everyone while on The Graham Norton Show, saying that dating at 50 is “tough.” Pfft, more like “secretly dating.” And we don’t think Holmes has a problem with his age.

Katie, Jamie, we think it’s about time you come out already. We’ve been patiently waiting, and impatiently rooting for you. So feel free to stroll through the streets of Chelsea, or hit the farmers’ market in L.A., or take Suri to Au Fudge like any other couple would. It’s been over five years since TomKat ended; we think the time is right for JamKat to make their debut.
